TSC Oosterhout retains ProPlay during artificial turf pitch renovation

Sustainability, sports performance and circularity were central to the renovation of artificial turf pitches 3 and 4 at TSC Oosterhout. Commissioned by the Municipality of Oosterhout, the existing pitches were fully renovated, with a deliberate decision to retain and reuse the existing ProPlay shock pads from Schmitz Foam. As such, the project serves as a strong practical example of circular construction within the sports sector.

At the KNVB Campus in Zeist, the renovation of the main training pitch was a top priority. The location introduced several unique challenges: the field is situated in a recessed, wooded area where moisture lingers and winter temperatures can drop significantly. A key component in the field construction is the ProPlay-Sport23/150 shock pad.

The new ProPlay-Sport20 passes all tests

The start of the new decade saw the ProPlay-Sport20 undergoing a update, this to ensure the world's most popular shock pad is future-proof. 2020 turned out to be a year that was demanding in many ways, but the renewed ProPlay-Sport20 passed with distinction. One of the first Dutch artificial turf football fields to benefit is the renovated main field at Be Quick'28 in Zwolle.

Ranney School, USA

ProPlay provides the base for ‘the most sustainable field ever built’

Ranney School and Princeton Soccer Academy can rightfully claim that their new field is ‘the most sustainable synthetic turf field in the world’. The woven carpet utilizes TPE infill made from discarded plastic that has been reclaimed from the sea. As it has been built over a ProPlay shock pad, the field has prevented thousands of tons of foam and plastic from being discarded.

The highest altitude soccer field featuring ProPlay

El Alto in Bolivia is the highest major metropolis in the world, with an average elevation of 4,150 m. It makes this field the highest altitude FIFA Quality Pro certified field in the world. Moreover, it is the first synthetic turf field with a horizontal drainage system in Bolivia, using the ProPlay-Sport23D shock pad.

FIFA senior World Cup played on a ProPlay base

Schmitz Foam Products provided the ProPlay-Sport shock pad to cushion the concrete surface at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, one of the largest Canadian stadiums used for the Women’s World Cup in June 2015. The Canadian Soccer Association, FIFA and JSA Sport Architecture Inc. selected partners Carpell Surfaces and ACT Global to supply and install the synthetic turf system. It was the first time all-synthetic turf was used in a FIFA senior World Cup.

Another round for ProPlay shock pad at soccer field replacement

In 2010 AFC IJburg decided to install a turf field with ProPlay. After eight years, in 2018, the turf had to be replaced. When the turf was taken off recently, installers discovered a flawless ProPlay- Sport20 field which looked like it was installed yesterday. Moreover, the performance still was on the same level. As good as new, not a single sheet needed to be replaced.
