At the KNVB Campus in Zeist, the renovation of the main training pitch was a top priority. The location introduced several unique challenges: the field is situated in a recessed, wooded area where moisture lingers and winter temperatures can drop significantly. A key component in the field construction is the ProPlay-Sport23/150 shock pad.
Roermond Hockey Club Concordia, the oldest hockey club in Limburg, was founded in 1924 and today is a large club of around 700 members. The club initially had plans to have one hockey pitch replaced, but due to the damage caused by the July 2021 high water, the KNHB disapproved all pitches. Schmitz Foam Products provided the ProPlay-Sport shock pad to cushion the concrete surface at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, one of the largest Canadian stadiums used for the Women’s World Cup in June 2015. The Canadian Soccer Association, FIFA and JSA Sport Architecture Inc. selected partners Carpell Surfaces and ACT Global to supply and install the synthetic turf system. When the turf was taken off recently, installers discovered a flawless ProPlay- Sport20 field which looked like it was installed yesterday. Moreover, the performance still was on the same level. As good as new, not a single sheet needed to be replaced.
