TSC Oosterhout retains ProPlay during artificial turf pitch renovation

Sustainability, sports performance and circularity were central to the renovation of artificial turf pitches 3 and 4 at TSC Oosterhout. Commissioned by the Municipality of Oosterhout, the existing pitches were fully renovated, with a deliberate decision to retain and reuse the existing ProPlay shock pads from Schmitz Foam. As such, the project serves as a strong practical example of circular construction within the sports sector. 

KNVB Campus, NL

At the KNVB Campus in Zeist, the renovation of the main training pitch was a top priority. The location introduced several unique challenges: the field is situated in a recessed, wooded area where moisture lingers and winter temperatures can drop significantly. RHC Concordia, NL

Roermond Hockey Club Concordia, the oldest hockey club in Limburg, was founded in 1924 and today is a large club of around 700 members. The club initially had plans to have one hockey pitch replaced, but due to the damage caused by the July 2021 high water, the KNHB disapproved all pitches. From one day to the next, Concordia had to replace not one, but three pitches.

Ranney School and Princeton Soccer Academy can rightfully claim that their new field is ‘the most sustainable synthetic turf field in the world’. The woven carpet utilizes TPE infill made from discarded plastic that has been reclaimed from the sea. As it has been built over a ProPlay shock pad, the field has prevented thousands of tons of foam and plastic from being discarded.

The Stoop, Twickenham, UK

England Hockey bounces back thanks to ProPlay

England Hockey experienced an unprecedented demand for tickets in the FIH Pro League ballot and decided it would be best to move the men’s and women’s double header to a bigger venue. The management of the Twickenham Stoop stadium was willing to take up the challenge and allowed the home of the Harlequins Rugby Club to be temporarily converted into a hockey arena.

The non-profit organization Asphalt Green in New York is dedicated to assisting individuals of all ages and backgrounds to achieve a healthy lifestyle through sports and fitness. FIFA senior World Cup played on a ProPlay base

Schmitz Foam Products provided the ProPlay-Sport shock pad to cushion the concrete surface at Montreal’s Olympic Stadium, one of the largest Canadian stadiums used for the Women’s World Cup in June 2015. The Canadian Soccer Association, FIFA and JSA Sport Architecture Inc. selected partners Carpell Surfaces and ACT Global to supply and install the synthetic turf system. It was the first time all-synthetic turf was used in a FIFA senior World Cup.
