Find out how to install ProPlay shock pads

When vertical drainage is not enough

The ProPlay D-version includes integrated drainage channels on the under side of the shock pad to allow increased water flow in the plane of the shock pad.

Shockpad Sport D-version-1-1

For installations where additional (horizontal) drainage is needed or desired,
ProPlay-23D/170 and ProPlay-20D are cost effective solutions.

This could include new build fields with an impermeable base or impermeable liner as part of the turf system, or a replacement field with an existing stone base that does not offer proper drainage capacity for the installation of the new turf.

Ready to endure many playing hours

The ProPlay D-version shock-absorbing pad with built-in horizontal drainage channels can be installed without an impermeable liner if you want to benefit from both its vertical and horizontal drainage capabilities.

If vertical drainage isn’t wanted, you simply install our D-version with impermeable foil. By providing the field horizontal water drainage capabilities you can accomplish a great saving in both time and costs to take away the need for digging out the entire subbase.

Some figures to the facts

In a situation of violent rain (>50mm per hour) the maximum drainage distance* of ProPlay-Sport23D/170 is approximately 40m.

*The amount of rainfall (mm/hour) a field can handle without rainwater rising above the shock pad, in relation to its width (m) and based upon a slope of 0.6%

With a typical soccer field being 70m - 80m wide, 40m is the perfect drainage distance to smoothly transport rain water from the center of the field to the sides of the field. Even after violent rain the soccer field is ready to be played on instantly.
